Cathy Oxley is passionate about her role as Director of Information Services, guiding the development of the three Grammar libraries into indispensable social and academic learning spaces. She works with an amazing Library team who are constantly exploring ways to improve the services they offer to the students and staff, and she really enjoys creating engaging learning experiences to promote both reading and information skills.
Cathy was employed at BGS in August 2009, in preparation for the opening of the new Lilley Centre with its technology-enriched classrooms, Library and Learning Commons. She has been a teacher librarian for the past twenty-five years, graduating from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Education, and then completing a Graduate Diploma in Information Science from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. She worked in both primary and secondary libraries before her employment at Brisbane Grammar School, and is currently President of the Brisbane Sub-committee of the Queensland School Library Association.
